SNSWLHD Visiting Medical Officers, Multiple GP Liaison Officers

An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced and suitably qualified GPs to join the medical team within SNSWLHD as GP Liaison Officers based in numerous locations.

Reporting to the Director of Medical Services, you will play an important role working across the primary and secondary health system, providing input into planning and improving systems and services at a local level. Facilitate system improvement across hospital and primary care for continuity and coordinator of care, including improving understanding of services, supporting clinicians across multiple care settings to achieve high quality and safe clinical practice. 

One of these vacancies will be based in Queanbeyan with a focus on improving liaison with Queanbeyan GP’s and the local health district.  Other positions with a negotiable location will have a project focus in the areas of palliative care, culturally safe care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and service improvements to emergency departments that reduce potentially preventable emergency department presentations.

You will be employed by Southern NSW Local Health District, with position funding shared between SNSWLHD and South Eastern NSW Primary Health Network COORDINARE and are co-funded 30 June, 2023.

Selection Criteria:

1. Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia,
2. Demonstrated recent clinical experience in General Practice,
3. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team,
4. Demonstrated effective communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills,
5. Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, and research and quality improvement.
